Oneglobal’s Gary Moran examines illegal charter risk at Corporate Jet Investor Asia 2026

Panel "Dealing with an illegal charter gone wrong" at Corporate Jet Investor Asia 2026 in Singapore, with Gary Moran of Oneglobal

Singapore: 29 September 2026 Oneglobal Broking, the international specialty insurance and reinsurance broker, joined the speaker line-up at Corporate Jet Investor Asia 2026 to address one of business aviation’s most persistent challenges: illegal and grey charter.

Held on 15 and 16 September at the Raffles City Convention Centre in Singapore, the conference brought together more than 260 decision-makers from across the business aviation industry to explore current trends and network with those shaping the sector in the region.

Gary Moran, Head of Aviation at Oneglobal, took part in the panel “Dealing with an illegal charter gone wrong”, moderated by Alasdair Whyte of Corporate Jet Investor, alongside David Hernandez of Vedder Price and fellow industry panellists.

Illegal charter refers to flights sold for hire without the operator holding the approvals required for commercial operations, while grey charter covers arrangements that sit in the uncertain space between private and commercial use. Most of these flights are completed without incident, which is part of why the practice persists. When one does go wrong, however, the consequences reach well beyond the aircraft itself.

The panel followed the process step by step, from the moment an incident occurs to the questions that follow it: who holds which exposure, how insurers, operators and charter brokers are each affected, and who is ultimately liable. For owners and operators, the discussion was a reminder that cover designed for private use may not respond when an aircraft has been flown commercially outside the terms of the policy.

Aerospace and aviation is one of Oneglobal’s core specialty lines, and the firm advises owners, operators and other aviation businesses on the placement of their risks with the world’s leading insurance markets. Conversations such as this one help clients understand where their exposures sit before a claim puts them to the test.

Oneglobal thanks Corporate Jet Investor for the invitation and for assembling such a strong cohort of industry leaders in Singapore.
